Blessed Assurance (I John 3:19-24)
Sunday, November 4, 2018
We all come up short when we compare ourselves with God’s standard of love. On top of that, we are supposed to be holy and righteous and be like Jesus. There is no way we can do that. But we still have hope. And in this passage of I John, we can find some assurance and rest. God’s grace and ability to sympathize and understand and His ability to forgive are far greater than your ability to condemn yourself.

Love Like Jesus (I John 3:16-18)
Sunday, October 28, 2018
Loving other Christians is foundational to knowing Jesus. It is not an option. But what does that mean? What is love of the family of God? Do I have to like everyone? Do you have to be nice to everyone? In I John 3:16-18, we continue to learn how to follow Jesus’ example of love. (This recording is unfortunately a little choppy.)

The Greatest of These ... (I John 3:11-18)
Sunday, October 21, 2018
Love is hard. But it is the supreme characteristic of genuine faith. It is foundational - not optional. This love shows that we actually have eternal life and that we are in the family of God. Like Jesus, we need to lay down our lives for each other.

True or False? (I John 3:1-10)
Sunday, October 14, 2018
Christians have a tendency to believe that we just don't measure up - that we are never good enough. Especially when we read "no one who abides in Him keeps on sinning" in I John. But John isn't saying that we won't sin. He is distinguishing between true faith versus false faith and is actually encouraging us in our faith.
