Prayer and Pride (Luke 18:9-14 Redux)
Sunday, June 17, 2018
Humility is essential for good relationships, especially for our relationship with God. The story of the Pharisee and the tax collector in Luke 18:9-14 shows this need for being in touch with our own continual need for God's grace and mercy. We need to evaluate ourselves, confess our sins, and accept God's mercy with humility.

Prayer's Purpose (Genesis 32 Redux)
Sunday, June 10, 2018
When we pray in times of crises, we're usually asking that the situation we're facing be changed. While it's right and good to ask for God's intervention, we must keep in mind that the purpose of prayer is not only to change our circumstances. We see in the experience of Jacob that God also seek to change us, by moving us from fear to faith.

Grappling with guilt (Psalm 51 Redux)
Sunday, June 3, 2018
We don't take God's righteousness and sin's grievous effects soberly enough. Our relationship with God should result in joy, peace, and satisfaction, but our sin steals that away. It is very serious. Psalm 51 shows us how serious it is and is a springboard for our true confession and restoration.

Friendships and all personal relationship require effort to develop. There can be many challenges - but they are worth the effort. Psalm 25 shows we really can have a personal relationship with God, if we realize that prayer is the primary element and make the effort to do it.

Reality Check
Sunday, May 20, 2018
We have to know the truth in order to live as we should. The gospel contains the truth that we all need. But preaching the gospel can lead to conflict and fear. We need boldness, and the truth from the prayer in Acts 4:21-31, which will give us boldness is GOD.
