Whether 'Nigerian princes' or shady contractors, there are many people who have made a lot of money by cheating others. Sometimes, wickedness seems to pay off. How do you respond to that? We need to remember several things when this happens, especially that God is aware of it and will judge everyone justly. So, we don't need to be angry or envious but can trust God instead.

While King David was not perfect, the Bible portrays him as a courageous, capable leader. He is perhaps best-known for killing Goliath when he was young. But by the time he wrote Psalm 28, he seems to have lost the brash confidence he had when he faced Goliath. Instead, he has realized that there is only so much he himself can do and that he needs God.

The praise we give not only expresses enjoyment, but completes and increases the enjoyment. That is the way it is with God. We praise Him not only because He wants us to, but because it enhances and continues the wonder and joy we feel about Him.

Trees will stop growing taller after a certain age. But they still keep growing for decades. They get bulkier, like a weightlifter. The believer in God will also keep growing spiritually. But the question is, "How do you want to finish?" The key to finishing well is to establish good roots now.
