There are many things that we like (and perhaps don't like) about weddings. Psalm 45 was apparently written for the wedding of a king. Even though this Psalm doesn't directly talk much about God, we can still learn some beautiful things that God likes and approves of.

The United States is a sleep-deprived nation. And one of the main reasons we lose sleep is anxiety. David experienced anxiety as his son tried to overthrow him. His response in Psalm 4 provides some good advice to deal with our anxiety as well.

Sometimes things can go really wrong in our lives. We dry up and can't do the things we normally do. We "hit the wall." Even when we know better, we frequently have our identity based in what we do. Our loss of identity can lead to self-hatred. We need to understand that God loves us - we are Beloved - and we should think of ourselves with His love for us in mind.

How often do you experience the peace, rest, and comfort that Psalm 23 describes? The center of that peace is the Lord. God has emphatically commanded that we rest. Why is that so important? It is not just for our physical benefit, but that rest shows we are dependent on Him.
